Soccer Game Preview: Riverdale vs. Chowchilla

The Riverdale Cowboys will venture away from home to face off against the Chowchilla Tribe at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Riverdale's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They had just enough and edged Liberty out 1-0. Given the Cowboys' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Hawks are ranked 901st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Chowchilla came up short against Parlier on Friday and fell 3-1.

Riverdale's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5-2. As for Chowchilla, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4-3 record this season.

Everything went Riverdale's way against Chowchilla in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Riverdale made off with a 4-1 victory. Does Riverdale have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chowchilla turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
