Recap: Smithtown Christian Knights vs. Southold Settlers

The Smithtown Christian Knights had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-43 win over Southold. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Smithtown Christian also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.

Smithtown Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lorenzo Crilly led the charge by scoring 20 points. The match was Crilly's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Isaiah McCarter was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.

Smithtown Christian pushed their record up to 6-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.8 points per game. As for Southold, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Smithtown Christian and Southold will both be playing Shelter Island the next time they take the court. Southold will host Shelter Island at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Smithtown Christian will host them at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th.
