Harker faced Santa Cruz in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Eagles fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 2-1. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Harker's loss dropped their record down to 13-2. As for Santa Cruz, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

After both having extra time off, Harker and Los Gatos will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Eagles have won seven straight at home dating back to last season, while the Wildcats won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Santa Cruz, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Bellarmine College Prep on the 12th.
