Softball Recap: Mt. Vernon Takes a Loss

The Mt. Vernon Mountaineers might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 2-1 to the Frontenac Raiders, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Mountaineers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cheyenne Bieber made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Mt. Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 22-9. As for Frontenac, the victory was the 11th in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Vernon will face off against Skyline at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Frontenac, they will take on Diamond at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
