Basketball Recap: Foard Takes a Loss

Foard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-53 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hickory Red Tornadoes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Tornadoes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 83-49 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Foard lost, don't look at Noah Hedrick. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-18 en route to 23 points. With that strong performance, Hedrick is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Holden Caldwell, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 14 points.

Foard's defeat dropped their record down to 1-22. As for Hickory, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foard will host St. Stephens at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Foard is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.4 points per game this season. As for Hickory, they will take on Statesville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Hickory's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matches.
