League recap: Washington tops Cocoa to extend winning streak

4A District 8 recap December 3, 2013

Washington added to the longest winning streak in 4A District 8 this week by beating Cocoa, 49-10. This was the team's 13th consecutive win.

Washington took down the Tigers 49-10 last week, the largest margin of any game. Treon Harris threw for 255 yards and 5 touchdowns and ran for 78 yards in the win.

Tim "ICE" Harris' team's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Harris contributed 78 yards. Terrawn McPhee helped Washington's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 71 yards.

Harris was the most successful running back in the league this week. Mark Walton also contributed to the rushing game with 25 yards on the ground.

Washington's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tornadoes feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Harris has thrown for 1,892 yards and 26 touchdowns this season, while Lamar Parker has 40 catches for 736 yards.

Entering into this week's contest against Bolles, Harris is short just 108 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season.

Washington led the league in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on Cocoa. Harris during the win.
