Baseball Recap: Rose Bud Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

Rose Bud lost to Midland back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Rose Bud Ramblers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Midland Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Ramblers have posted since March 16, 2024.

Calan English made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. English was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

English wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Athan Hensley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Rose Bud pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.5 runs. As for Midland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Rose Bud will challenge Quitman at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Quitman has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.4 runs per game on average), something Rose Bud will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Midland, they will take on Heber Springs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
