The Clawson Trojans will square off against the Mott Marauders at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Clawson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Clawson is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering New Haven just ended the team's ten-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 5-4.
Clawson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Fulks, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, while Mott put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Sterling Heights. The Marauders were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Stallions. The Marauders haven't had any issues with the Stallions recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Kevin Barden and Alex Dunn made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Barden pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Dunn didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. At the plate, Barden went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple, while Dunn went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Dustin Mayfield was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Wypiszewski, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.
Clawson's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 13-6. As for Mott, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 5-6.
Clawson was able to grind out a solid win over Mott when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 13-9. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Marauders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
