Basketball Recap: St. Francis Mariners vs. Luther Prep Phoenix
If the St. Francis Mariners were riding high off their 86-51 takedown of the Catholic Central Hilltoppers last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. St. Francis took a 69-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Phoenix on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Cameron Nerby and Keenan Green certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Nerby almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds, while Green scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Green, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
St. Francis has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Luther Prep, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.
