Lafayette Jefferson skates past Rensselaer Central with ease

The Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos won the last time they faced the Rensselaer Central Bombers, and things went their way on Saturday too. Lafayette Jefferson blew past Rensselaer Central 66-28 on the road. Given Lafayette Jefferson's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Rensselaer Central is ranked 268th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Alonzo Clawson-smith, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Lafayette Jefferson's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Devion Penny, who scored 17 points.

Lafayette Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Rensselaer Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lafayette Jefferson is on the road again on Friday and play against Harrison at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th. Harrison is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for Rensselaer Central, they will head out on the road to face off against North White at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
