Preview: Independence Knights vs. Memorial Warriors
Independence has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Memorial Warriors at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Independence will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1135th, while Memorial is ranked 61st).
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Independence, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 45-29 loss to Lebanon Trail. Independence has not had much luck with Lebanon Trail recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Memorial posted their biggest win yet this season on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 57-18 victory over Walnut Grove on the road. The win made it back-to-back wins for Memorial.
Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Memorial, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 20-11 record this season.
Independence was taken down by Memorial 73-20 in their previous meeting on January 2nd. Can Independence avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
