Basketball Preview: Countryside Cougars vs. Clearwater Tornadoes
Two dominant guards in Corey Perlin and Keshawn Andrews are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Countryside Cougars are taking a road trip to face off against the Clearwater Tornadoes at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Countryside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.8 points per game this season.
Last Wednesday, Countryside didn't have too much trouble with Boca Ciega as they won 63-48. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Perlin was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Padags, who posted 16 points and seven rebounds.
Clearwater has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-51 heartbreaker at the hands of Sickles.
Clearwater's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Countryside, their win bumped their record up to an identical 10-5.
Countryside skirted past Clearwater 49-47 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Countryside since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
