Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Middletown). They breezed by the Monticello Panthers to the tune of 74-16 on Monday. With the Middie Bears ahead 42-10 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Middletown's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Monticello, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middletown won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Minisink Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Minisink Valley will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Middletown surely won't give up without a fight. As for Monticello, they and Eldred will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played.
