Volleyball Recap: Vernon Comes Up Short

Vernon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Clifton Mustangs.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Vernon sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 16-25, 25-21.

Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Clifton, their win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-18.

Vernon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Weehawken on the 28th. Clifton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
