Preview: Pikes Peak Christian Eagles vs. Hanover Hornets
Pikes Peak Christian has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Hanover Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Pikes Peak Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Tuesday.
Pikes Peak Christian scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They were the clear victor by a 58-32 margin over Cripple Creek-Victor. Pikes Peak Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 25 points or more this season.
Sarah Harris continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with six steals and five assists. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rebecca Thomas, who scored 12 points along with seven steals and five assists.
Meanwhile, Hanover suffered a tough 51-25 loss at the hands of Kiowa on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Hanover can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while Kiowa is ranked 116th).
Pikes Peak Christian pushed their record up to 6-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Hanover, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Everything came up roses for Pikes Peak Christian against Hanover in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 46-18 win. Will Pikes Peak Christian repeat their success, or does Hanover have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
