Baseball Game Preview: East Juniata Tigers vs. Greenwood Wildcats

The East Juniata Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Greenwood Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. East Juniata is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

East Juniata lost 13-3 to Newport on Wednesday.

East Juniata saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Meyer Ramsey, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Ramsey has brought in this season.

Meanwhile, Greenwood got the win against Mount Calvary Christian on Thursday by a conclusive 8-2. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won four in a row.

Vance Moyer tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Aaden Sugden and A.J. Adlon did most of the damage at the plate: Sugden got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Adlon went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Beneito, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

East Juniata's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Greenwood, their record now sits at 5-10.

East Juniata suffered a grim 16-5 defeat to Greenwood in their previous matchup on Tuesday. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
