Softball Game Preview: D'Iberville Warriors vs. Gulfport Admirals

The D'Iberville Warriors will challenge the Gulfport Admirals at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. D'Iberville's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Gulfport's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

D'Iberville fell victim to Harrison Central and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Red Rebels by a score of 1-0. The Warriors' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

The result came thanks to Emma Franklin's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Gulfport came up short against Ocean Springs on Tuesday and fell 8-5. The Admirals haven't had much luck with the Greyhounds recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

D'Iberville now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Gulfport, they now also have a losing record of 5-6.

D'Iberville skirted past Gulfport 4-3 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Does D'Iberville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Gulfport turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
