When it comes to explaining why St. Edward lost, one person who can't be blamed is Anthony Reader. Despite the final result, he scored 29 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Reader scored a full 63% of St. Edward's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Marcos Paez was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 3 steals and 3 blocks.
Micah Perdew had an outrageously good game for Nebraska Christian as he scored 30 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Perdew has scored at least 25% of Nebraska Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Falk, who scored 4 points along with 12 rebounds.
St. Edward's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Nebraska Christian, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Edward will face off against Nebraska Lutheran on Tuesday. As for Nebraska Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Heartland Lutheran on Saturday.
