Soccer Recap: Springfield's Undefeated Season over After 13 Games

If Springfield was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Napoleon on Sunday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Devils lost 4-0 to the Southview Cougars on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Springfield came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Southview are ranked 97th).

Having lost for the first time this season, Springfield fell to 11-1-1. As for Southview, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2-2.

Coming up, Springfield is taking a road trip to face off against Findlay at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Springfield will be up against Findlay's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.8 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Southview, they will welcome Anthony Wayne at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
