Football Recap: Sterling City Falls to Compass Academy in First Game of Season

Sterling City had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were dealt a 49-7 loss at the hands of Compass Academy. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Compass Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Compass Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braxton Morris, who picked up 120 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Morris was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 50 yards. Compass Academy also got help from Ryian Farris, who showed off his sure hands for 106 receiving yards.

Looking ahead, Sterling City will square off against Miles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Compass Academy, they will challenge Iraan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
