A Season-Best Performance from Rush Blackwell Leads South Columbus over Heide Trask
On Friday, South Columbus got the W thanks in part to Rush Blackwell playing the best football he has all season. Blackwell rushed for 247 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played.
The victory was the sixth in a row for South Columbus, bringing their record for this year to 8-1. Blackwell and South Columbus will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Whiteville at 7:30 p.m. on November 1st.

On Friday, East Bladen got the W thanks in part to Dashon Campbell playing the best football he has all season. Campbell rushed for 181 yards and five touchdowns on only 14 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
East Bladen is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. Campbell and East Bladen will be playing in front of their home fans against Whiteville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Johnson Posts Huge Game in 51-38 Loss
Jeremiah Johnson put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in November of 2023 on Friday. He rushed for 298 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 121 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Pender's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. They and West Columbus are set to duel on Friday.

Briar Johnson Goes Supernova in South Columbus Victory
Briar Johnson was instrumental in extending South Columbus's winning streak to six on Friday. Johnson turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 102 yards and two touchdowns.
On the season, Johnson has run in 15 touchdowns while averaging 80 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging three rushing yards per game.
