Volleyball Recap: Western Reserve Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Western Reserve waltzed into their match on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Start Spartans by a score of 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Roughriders also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Western Reserve was led to victory by Makayla Case and Kendall Warthling. Case had eight digs and three aces, while Warthling had four aces. Those aces marked the first that Warthling has served this season.

They weren't the only good server: Western Reserve was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Western Reserve's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Start, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Western Reserve wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Maumee on the 13th. As for Start, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Port Clinton on the 13th.
