Softball Recap: Columbia Wildcats vs. Seminary Bulldogs
After flying high against Jefferson Davis County on Thursday, Columbia came back down to earth. The Columbia Wildcats fell victim to a rough 17-3 loss at the hands of the Seminary Bulldogs on Friday. Columbia was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Seminary apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March.
For Seminary's part, they got a massive performance out of Presleigh Atwood, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and a double. Brooklyn Sanford was another key contributor, going 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, and a double.
Columbia has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-10-1 record this season. As for Seminary, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.
Columbia will head out on the road to challenge West Marion at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Seminary does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
