Basketball Recap: Trinity Comes Up Short

On Saturday, the Trinity Trojans came up short against the Harding Raiders and fell 64-52. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Raiders are ranked 23rd).

Despite the loss, Trinity saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jordan Campbell went 6 of 10 on his way to 18 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The matchup was Campbell's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Hughes, who posted 11 points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Trinity smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Trinity now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Harding, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Trinity wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 66-32 win against Beachwood on the 7th. As for Harding, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-40 victory against Howland on the 7th.
