De La Salle Collegiate and Catholic Central are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Pilots are taking a road trip to challenge the Shamrocks at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither De La Salle Collegiate nor Catholic Central posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

On Friday, De La Salle Collegiate came out on top against St. Francis de Sales by a score of 2-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Dylan Luepke spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, De La Salle Collegiate saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JJ Jurczyk, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Catholic Central's offense. They fell just short of St. Francis de Sales by a score of 2-0 last Wednesday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Shamrocks haven't been shut out since back in March.

De La Salle Collegiate is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Catholic Central, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-6.

De La Salle Collegiate beat Catholic Central 7-2 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pilots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
