Preview: Apex Cougars vs. Millbrook Wildcats
Apex is 0-4 against Millbrook since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Apex Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Millbrook Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Apex focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
Last Friday, Apex came up short against Cary and fell 33-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Apex has scored all season.
Isabella Pease put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. The matchup was her fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Meanwhile, Millbrook's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 70-25 loss at the hands of Independence. Millbrook was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-10.
Apex's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Millbrook, they bumped their record down to 1-8 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
Apex ended up a good deal behind Millbrook in their previous matchup back in November of 2017, losing 40-23. Can Apex avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
