Softball Game Preview: Cascade Christian Cougars vs. Fife Trojans

Cascade Christian is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Fife is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Cougars will host the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Cascade Christian will be strutting in after a win while Fife will be coming in after a loss.

14 must be Cascade Christian's lucky number: they beat Vashon Island with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Cougars blew past the Pirates 14-4. Considering the Cougars have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Fife unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Franklin Pierce by a score of 6-5.

Mallory Robson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlin Christiansen, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Cascade Christian is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Fife, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.
