Softball Recap: Providence Catholic Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Providence Catholic's offense. They fell just short of the St. Laurence Vikings by a score of 1-0 on Friday. Considering the last time the Celtics couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

This is the second loss in a row for Providence Catholic and nudges their season record down to 15-9. As for St. Laurence, their win bumped their record up to 15-5.

Providence Catholic and St. Laurence should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Celtics (ranked 52nd) will meet Evergreen Park (ranked 248th) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, St. Laurence will square off against Latin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (41 vs. 519).
