Basketball Recap: Jack Ferrell's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lebanon over Plainfield

Lebanon lost against Plainfield back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lebanon Tigers took a 51-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Plainfield Quakers. The match marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jack Ferrell, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wesley Byrd, who earned ten points.

Noah Smith continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Plainfield, going 7 for 11 en route to 21 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. The contest was Smith's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Trey Barton, who scored nine points.

With the defeat, Lebanon broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-5. As for Plainfield, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lebanon will challenge Speedway at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Plainfield, they will be playing at home against Terre Haute North Vigo at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Terre Haute North Vigo will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Plainfield surely won't give up without a fight.
