Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Graham-Kapowsin

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Graham-Kapowsin had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Glacier Peak Grizzlies. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on four straight.

Jessika Jennings made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Makayla Young, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was MaKena Rodgers, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Graham-Kapowsin's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-5. As for Glacier Peak, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-8.

As of now, neither Graham-Kapowsin nor the Grizzlies have any future games scheduled.
