Baseball Recap: Bellingham Comes Up Short

Bellingham extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping their season record down to 6-11 in the process. They came up short against the Burlington-Edison Tigers, falling 16-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in March.

As for Burlington-Edison, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-3. Considering they have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For Burlington-Edison's part, Ryder Aldridge tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Aldridge a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Jakson Granger was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Cody Roetcisoender, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Bellingham wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Meridian on the 29th. As for Burlington-Edison, they have also already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against Squalicum on the 29th.
