Volleyball Recap: Medina Extends Winning Streak to Six

Medina came tearing into Tuesday's match with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Brunswick Blue Devils. For the Battling Bees, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Blue Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Medina wouldn't go down easily and took Brunswick into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-12, 25-18, 22-25, 15-13.

Grace Tabaka was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 12 digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in August.

They weren't the only good servers: Medina was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 26 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Loss or not, Brunswick got some senior leadership from Ashlie Lieb and Alexis Must. Lieb had 28 digs and four assists, while Must had 14 digs and two aces. Those 28 digs set a new season-high mark for Lieb.

The victory got Medina back to even at 7-7. As for Brunswick, with the defeat, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 4-10.

Medina didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Strongsville on the 25th. As for Brunswick, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Mentor on the 25th.
