Volleyball Recap: Yuba City Comes Up Short

After flying high against Pleasant Valley last Tuesday, Yuba City came back down to earth. The Honkers came up short against the Twelve Bridges Raging Rhinos on Thursday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raging Rhinos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

While Yuba City was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Twelve Bridges' winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-11, 25-20.

Yuba City dropped their record down to 3-16 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Twelve Bridges, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Yuba City and Twelve Bridges could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Honkers (ranked 924th) will meet River Valley (ranked 204th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Twelve Bridges will face off against Nevada Union at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (399 vs. 109).
