Basketball Recap: King Sets Scoring Season-High Against Rialto

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask King). Everything went their way against the Rialto Knights on Thursday as they made off with a 74-52 win. The Wolves pushed the score to 63-37 by the end of the third, a deficit the Knights cut but never quite recovered from.

King's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caleb Ruiz, who went 5-for-6 to rack up 12 points. Ruiz also posted two assists, marking his first of the season. Cayden Tillman was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to five assists and five boards.

King was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They are 7-1 when they've passed the ball that well.

King has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points over those games. As for Rialto, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Looking ahead, King won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ramona at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rialto, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Redlands at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
