Softball Recap: Nature Coast Tech Takes a Loss

After flying high against Zephyrhills last Thursday, Nature Coast Tech came back down to earth. The Sharks fell just short of the Springstead Eagles by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Sharks in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

Izzy Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Nature Coast Tech's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Springstead, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

Nature Coast Tech wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-2 defeat against Citrus on the 1st. As for Springstead, they have also already played their next game, an 18-4 victory against Weeki Wachee on the 1st.
