Baseball Recap: Cortland Comes Up Short

Cortland fell victim to Bishop Ludden and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Gaelic Knights by a score of 1-0. The match marked the first time this year in which the Purple Tigers were not able to get on the board.

Cal Albright spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

Cortland's loss dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Bishop Ludden, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-6.

Looking ahead, Cortland will host Homer at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Ludden does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
