San Marcos had won eight straight games and Azariah Fennell did her part to make it nine on Monday. The San Marcos Rattlers strolled past the McCollum Cowboys with points to spare, taking the game 62-48 thanks in part to Fennell, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 boards. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2024.

The team also got some help courtesy of Rileigh Good, who posted four points in addition to five assists and five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played.

San Marcos' victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for McCollum, they moved to 22-3 with that loss, which also ended their 14-game winning streak.

San Marcos and McCollum should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. San Marcos (ranked 67th) will meet East Central (ranked 364th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. San Marcos is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season. Similarly, McCollum (ranked 93rd) will meet Southwest (ranked 924th) at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
