Atwater is 9-1 against Golden Valley since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Falcons will host the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Atwater has three straight victories, Golden Valley has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Atwater barely beat Merced the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons never let the Bears get on the board and left with a 7-0 win on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Falcons have posted against the Bears since May 21, 2021.

The team relied heavily on Mathias Cole, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Golden Valley came up short against El Capitan on Friday and fell 6-1.

Atwater's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Golden Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

Atwater beat Golden Valley 4-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
