Soccer Game Preview: Pius X vs. Gretna East

The Pius X Thunderbolts are taking a road trip to square off against the Gretna East Griffins at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Pius X will be strutting in after a victory while Gretna East will be coming in after a defeat.

Pius X is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Norris on Saturday. Pius X haven't had any issues with Norris recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Maddox Miller and Basil Fulton scored both of Pius X's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Meanwhile, after soaring to nine goals the game before, Gretna East was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Mount Michael Benedictine who was credited with the win. Mount Michael Benedictine got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Gretna East's two.

Gretna East's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Pius X, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
