Volleyball Recap: Patoka Warriors vs. Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats
After losing to Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City the last time they met, Patoka decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Patoka Warriors had just enough and edged the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats out 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.
Patoka had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-18, 26-24.
Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Birgen Schlanser, who had 27 digs. Schlanser is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in the last ten games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Doty, who had nine digs and two aces.
Patoka's victory bumped their record up to 12-15. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, they moved to 11-11 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
