Mountainside faced Jesuit in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Mavericks walked away with a 5-1 win over the Crusaders. Winning may never get old, but the Mavericks sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
The team relied heavily on Tenley Jukkula, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Libby Wilson, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Mountainside's record now sits at 17-4. As for Jesuit, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-9.
