League recap: South Point extends winning streak with victory over West Rowan

3A/2A Conference 3 recap November 19, 2013

South Point added to the longest winning streak in 3A/2A Conference 3 this week by beating West Rowan, 28-7. This was the team's 12th consecutive win.

Lake Norman Charter fell to Carver 53-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Neil Baugh was a bright spot for Lake Norman Charter, as he ran for 12 yards and caught 8 passes for 157 yards in the loss.

Moe Neal provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Forestview beat Carson.

Neal was a beast in the backfield as the Jaguars bested the Cougars.

JC Crawford and Neal gave Forestview a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Crawford threw for 119 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Neal ran for 289 yards. Teammate Jarvis Jeffries added to the ground attack by rushing for 33 yards.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Chris Medlin's team's Logan Bradley and Mykelti Armstrong have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-4 quarterback Bradley has thrown for 2,462 yards this season, while Armstrong has 78 catches for 1,095 yards. Tyler Bray from South Point leads the league in rushing with 1,632 yards.

Ashbrook's Austin Mitchell is within 23 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Crest. Accruing a total of 15 touchdowns this year, Mitchell has thrown for 1,977 yards with 10 interceptions.

Mickey Lineberger's team's Diontrea King is a mere 57 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. King has rushed for 943 yards on 78 carries so far this year.

The Green Wave and Erwin played the most contested game in the league this week, with the Green Wave eventually emerging with a 38-35 victory.
