Softball Recap: Douglas Byrd Takes a Loss

Douglas Byrd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 31st straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Lumberton Pirates, falling 22-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-0 back in March.

Douglas Byrd's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Lumberton, they moved to 9-11 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Douglas Byrd will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Seventy-First at 6:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Lumberton, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Purnell Swett on the 15th.
