Basketball Recap: Joseph Macdougall's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Warren County over Fauquier

Warren County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Fauquier Falcons an easy 70-44 win. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while the Falcons are ranked 94th).

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joseph Macdougall, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Bergmann, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 14 points.

Warren County's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Fauquier, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Warren County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 77-43 win against Brentsville District on the 20th. As for Fauquier, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-15 victory against Manassas Park on the 19th.
