Soccer Recap: Lake Howell Takes a Loss

Lake Howell and Oviedo squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Lake Howell had to settle for second. They came up short against the Oviedo Lions, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Silverhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 308th, while the Lions are ranked 54th).

Lake Howell has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9-1 record this season. As for Oviedo, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-3-1.

Lake Howell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oviedo, they will face off against Edgewater at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oviedo knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Edgewater likes a good challenge.
