Volleyball Recap: Albuquerque Academy Extends Winning Streak to Eight + How To Watch

Albuquerque Academy faced Hope Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Chargers came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 3-1. Winning may never get old, but the Chargers sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17, 21-25, 25-16.

Leading Albuquerque Academy to victory were Olivia Hammond and Kiara Brown. Hammond had five digs and three aces, while Brown hit 65.6% for 22 kills and seven digs and two aces. Brown has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 21 times she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Albuquerque Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. They served seven more aces than Hope Christian's also-impressive total of 11.

When it comes to explaining why Hope Christian lost, don't look at Sway Baca. Despite the final result, she had six digs and five aces.

Albuquerque Academy's record now sits at 15-6. As for Hope Christian, their defeat ended a six-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-6.
