            Softball Recap: Boone Grove Wolves vs. Valparaiso Vikings        
        
		
        
        
            Boone Grove extended their winning streak  to four  on Monday, bumping their season record up to 14-10 in the process. They narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  squad sidled past the Valparaiso Vikings  4-2. For the Wolves, this counts as revenge for the   7-6 win the Vikings walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in May of 2024.

 Amanda Powell made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off   nine  hits. What's more,  she posted four  strikeouts, the most she's  had since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Olivia Treece, who  went 1-for-2 with three  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
As for Valparaiso, their loss  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 13-14. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  defeat they have suffered  since May 8, 2024.
 On Valparaiso's side,  Delilah Kincaid was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 1-for-4 with one  home run.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boone Grove will host Munster  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3  runs per game  this season, so the Wolves' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Valparaiso, they will square off against Lake Central at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Indians will roll in looking for their  seventh straight  victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
