Maury is a perfect 10-0 against Manor since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Commodores will welcome the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. Maury is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.
Maury's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 25-0 margin over Norview. Considering the Commodores have won six games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Blake Cushman and Walter Rieger were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Cushman struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Rieger pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Cushman has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Cushman went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Rieger went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Maury let Landen Hall and Lee Garris run wild. Hall went 3-for-6 with one home run, eight RBI, and three runs, while Garris went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Garris is becoming a predictor of Maury's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-5 when he doesn't). Toren Lassalle was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Maury always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .638. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Norview only posted an OBP of .059.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Manor's offense. They came up short against Oscar Smith on Monday, falling 14-0. The Mustangs' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Maury has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.2 runs over those games. As for Manor, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
Manor's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Maury has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .530. It's a different story for Manor, though, as they've only averaged .361. Will they be able to contain Maury's hitters?
Everything went Maury's way against Manor when the teams last played back in April, as Maury made off with a 23-1 victory. Do the Commodores have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
