Softball Recap: Trimble County Has No Trouble Against Gallatin County

Trimble County won the last time they faced Gallatin County and things went their way on Thursday too. The Raiders blew past the Wildcats 14-1. Considering the Raiders have won six matches by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Alyssa Ritchie made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaelyn Holbrook, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Shelby Wright was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Trimble County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gallatin County only posted an OBP of .294.

Trimble County's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-5. As for Gallatin County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trimble County will face off against Eminence at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gallatin County, they will take on Ludlow at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
