Baseball Recap: Hobart Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

Hobart took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Munster, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Brickies won by a run and slipped past the Mustangs 6-5. This was a revenge game for the Brickies: when they faced off against the Mustangs last Tuesday, they had to take a 10-4 defeat.

Connor Kenjic was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Kenjic was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

Kenjic wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Stafford, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Ethan Murchek also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Hobart's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Munster, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Hobart will head out to challenge Morgan Township at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Munster, they will host Valparaiso at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
